De-friended & Blocked by Patricia Petersen!

I find it sad when a politician feels they cannot answer genuine questions on facebook. Patricia Petersen puts herself out there as the peoples politician. The lady who wants to help the people. The lady who will listen to your concerns, and help you out when you need it.

Which is GREAT if this is what she actually does. I, on the other hand, have not had the same experience. Recently her "cause of the week" was the Collingwood Park mine "victims". I commented (genuinely) that I was under the impression that before buying a house, you paid someone to check the land and building structure out so you knew if it was stable, and if you really wanted to live there. At the time I wasn't sure if she had deleted it, or if it simply hadn't gone through correctly (as facebook for iphone can be a bit iffy), so when it disappeared off her facebook wall, I reposted it. That was left there, but ignored.

Then more recently she posted about the possibility her partner's band "The Break" playing in Ipswich, and suggested the tickets would be $69 and $99. There were mixed opinions from other fb'ers, and I commented that I wouldn't pay $69 when they are playing at the Gold Coast for $24. That was deleted.

I then posted on her facebook wall asking why it was that she was deleting my questions. That was deleted.

I then posted on her facebook wall again, the following:
"Patricia, why do you continue to delete my comments? They have been valid questions, but because you don't have an answer (or don't like the question), you delete them. How can you convince us that you are the person to stand up for us, the people, when you are deleting/ignoring genuine questions? Fair enough, if it is too hard, then say it is too hard, or that you don't know, but deleting comments and questions is cowardly and unprofessional."

I was then de-friended, blocked, and notified that what I have said is defamation and pretty much that I could be sued for what I have said, which I find pretty amusing, seeing as I haven't actually said anything bad about her!

I have now found out that she has been posting on facebook information about herself, which included that she is "open to different views and discussions". Ummmm???? It doesn't feel that way to me! And I have also since heard that I am not the only one to be deleted, defriended and blocked for asking a question!

Anyone else been de-friended, and blocked by Patricia Petersen for no apparent reason?

Maybe she is ignoring/deleting/blocking me because she knows I am a waste of her time, because I am unable to vote?

Dear invertigofreak,

I, like many many others, have had similar experiences and continue to do so. One of your comments sums it up well:

There are cases of which I am aware of employers being contacted and informed that there have been defamatory statements made by their employees and that legal action could be taken. I am one of these cases. I too find this laughable as no one has ever produced evidence of comments which could be deemed as defamatory, and the comments that are available have not been deemed inappropriate.

Due to being de-friended or blocked it makes it difficult to get Dr Petersen to answer questions or to prevent her supporters from making claims on her facebook sites. This in turn effectively silences anyone who would normally have the right of reply.

In a nutshell, you are not alone!

I didn't think I was alone on this! But nevermind, Hopefully those who really count (the voters) will realise that she is doing this and not vote for her!!! Who wants a politician that doesn't listen to differing opinions?

A FORMER Fairlight resident, who contested two Federal Election campaigns running against Warringah MP Tony Abbott, is now colouring the political landscape in the Queensland seat of Blair.

Patricia Petersen ran against Mr Abbott in the 2004 and 2007 elections as an independent candidate and also twice ran for Manly Council.

In 2004, a Manly magistrate discharged more than 60 dishonesty charges against Ms Petersen after she said her bipolar condition meant she forgot how she obtained goods worth $21,000.

Her solicitor told Manly Court his client’s bipolar condition affected her memory of how she obtained 245 items in her home, including several vacuum cleaners, hair products, a spa, a fridge and other homewares.

After initially indicating she would run as an independent, Ms Petersen sought pre-selection for the Liberal National Party but switched to the Greens after losing.

She alleges she was assaulted by a female politician at a recent function, and the Queensland Times has also reported that she offered voters a chance to win $1000 if they joined her campaign’s Facebook page.

I also find it highly amusing that she is still harping on on Facebook saying she only blocks people who are rude or abusive! Hardly the case.
