| I believe it was solved it was/is Raymond John Carroll but he kept getting off even though the Jury would convict him each time it went to trial ................ The bite marks matched his teeth and the main bit of evidence the 'Pubic hair' got destroyed some how.......... |

| This case will live in my soul forever. I was actually in Queens Park the night of the murder, only a few yards from the toilet block where Deidre was found, with my boyfriend. unfortunately we saw nothing, but i will never forget it. Deidre was taken from her bedroom, sexually abused, and thrown onto the roof of the toilets like a discarded doll. the justice system failed miserably in this case. Carroll actually turns up where Deidre's mother works even now & expects her to serve him. there is no doubt he is the murderer as he has very distinctive teeth which match the bite marks on Deidre's thigh exactly. he can never be brought to justice because of the double jeopardy law. |

Yes it cases like this that make you realise that sometimes the justice system really fails victims especially double jepordy law, which is BS because if they are found guilty they can appeal their sentence , yet if found not guilty its all over, I have read the book and my heart goes out to Deidre and her family,
An interesting thing is as a young girl I was attacked at a phone box in the Woodridge area on Kingston Road they never got the guy ,and a few years ago I bought the book and took a look at his photo in that era and it sure looks like the same guy , this guy was weird looking in army clothes turns out he had a girlfriend called Desley who lived in Woodridge in the early 70s makes you think doesnt it?
I agree too much led to him , yet he got off on appeal twice ........ |
