Moved to a new suburb situated in an old suburb of boganville to have neighbours cars overflowing from their yards into ours. Our friends have to park down the road and walk up the hill. Our friends leave our house to go back to their car to be confronted by 3 shirtless skinny bear drinking men in their 20's for parking on the footpath and depriving the over-flowing property parking privleges.
Constantly having to take our wheelie bin up the road due to different neighbours vehicles being parked on our footpath so the truck cannot access our wheelie bin.
We visit our friends on Chermside Rd to where they dont have over-flowing car problem, but rather people dealing with home based business's and have many strange people parking in front of their house.
I have a problem of neighbours overflowing vehicles, they have a problem with residential business causing them unwanted traffic which sometimes block access and forced to park on the road or blocking their wheelie bin at emptying times.
I read in the QT paper that the council is looking at redeveloping the Ipswich Mall which they purchased using Ipswich City funds and now plan to rip it down. I am suprised that the council is so dedicated to devoting their entire lifespan around 1 particular section of Ipswich. Didn't the council approve the development in the first place?
Why not put a 1 way street through the mall to promote eateries and night life, turn Bell street into a Bus lane.
Bogans are always whinging about the bus service and yet they dont realise there are no bus lanes for a good bus service.
Is there no town planning in Ipswich?
How many vehicles is 1 household permitted (5, 6, maybe 12?)?
Boganvilles council can't fill the mall but supports residential business and in return dont care about the surrounding residents?
Ipswich is run by bogans and designed for bogans. |

While I share some of your concerns regarding the town planning and costs of the mall purchase, I think its worth thinking about putting your thoughts to better use than a rant on a forum which will acheive nothing.
Put your thoughts in a way which doesn't generalise with comments about residents and adresss the actual issues to which could then be refered both to the Council and Minister for Local Government and the local papers.
Sitting on the sidelines barking whats going wrong doesn't bring about change.
Mind you I'd be worried about "bear" drinkers on my footpath too! |

Well said Steve, and corruptme, please be careful about dissing Ipswich on a forum about Ipswich, and especially whilst I'm the forum moderator.
You have been kindly warned. |

Yeah I'm just not sure that the council is approachable or has the best interest of many people. I recon they are just too busy setting themselves up in good well paid job roles.
Ipswich City Council owns Pty Ltd companies for several different reasons with directors Paul Tully, Paul Pissasle, and Co. This seems to be a full time paid job role and one that doesn't need to be elected, also seems to be a easy way of having access to public money.
Our friends at East Ipswich went and contacted Heather Morrow in regard to the home based business causing discomfort and how come such a popular commercial business is allowed to operate in a residential area. Nothing was ever done about the matter 2 years ago, it was just ignored and that same business now has employees parked in front of their house and the many customers on a daily basis.
We believe commercial business should operate from a commercial premises that is built to accommodate the activities they attract - such as employees, customers, delivery vehicles, trucks, couriers, and the volume of people. Shouldn't be in the places where people live or want a good family life.
Its not like the council is unaware of these sort of matters with the Garbage trucks not picking up bins on a weekly occurance, mail people walking with trollies constantly dodging vehicles, and the council workers that put dog tag notices in the letterbox to check registration for revenue raising purposes.
I feel that I too would be ignored, I had spoken to the police about the matter and was told to approach the people and discuss the matter with the owners of the vehicles.
On another occassion a car that was being driven with 4 children (aged around 13 or 14) around Raceview in a black unregistered car with no back shockies and the muffler dragging along the ground - they kept going around the block for at least 1/2 an hour - I was asked to find out where the offenders lived and report the address.
So its not as I haven't tried its just that I don't fit in with your Ipswich society I am afraid. I recon this is normal activity for Ipswich people and it seems to be applauded by the council, other places I have lived would have stomped on any of these activities swiftly. |

While you may not have confidence in Council, as I suggested there is alternatives to make complaints and there are also Council staff rather than the Councillors themselves.
Otherwise you are really wasting your time apart from venting your spleen, and if you are to vent your spleen isn't better to vent it to those who can(even if they don't) do something about it?
The Ipswich City Council is NOT the community. They are a part of it just like everyone else I don't think you should judge the many good people and places on few local issues not being taken up by Council.
I have none of those issues in my suburb and I have been a vocal critic of my councillor. |
